What Must I DO???

"How can I become more spiritual?"

"How can I find peace of mind -- should I meditate, and if so, what method should I use?"

"What must I do to be saved?"

Stop now. Stop seeking. Stop trying. Stop looking for methods. Stop looking for happiness. Call off the search. Sit down. Be still. Stop giving energy to your doubts and your worries. Be quiet. If your mind is full of thoughts, just stop following them; don't fight them, don't struggle against them, but just don't give them any energy. Stay in silent vigil and tell your mind "Sorry, I'm tired of following all of these thoughts and doubts and worries."

There is nothing to do. There is nothing to become. You are already what you are, and nothing can change that. Nothing can take anything real away from you. All that can be taken away is illusion, and only that which is unchanging and eternal is real. You do not require saving. You do not need liberation -- you are already free. Someone asked Papaji "What is Freedom, how to get it and how to stay free?" He replied:

"Freedom is when there is no worry,
no doubt, no unhappiness, and no fear.
Get it by simply sitting Here
and not by climbing mountains.
Simply sit Here and don't think of anything.
This is all.
Stay here by keeping Quiet, doubtless and fearless."

There may be times when you just can't achieve that. At those times, there are other things that will help. You could meditate, but the less "method" you add to the process, the better. The best meditation is sitting in silence, doing nothing. If your mind is overactive, chanting a mantra may help a lot.

Or you could just get up, fix yourself a peanut butter sandwich, sit down and DO NOTHING else but experience, as fully and completely as possible, just eating your sandwich. Suffering happens when you resist or deny what's happening Here and Now, when you flee from Here and Now into illusions of worry, doubt, fantasy, desire, possessiveness and other unreal states. Just feeding your body can be truth and bliss, if you experience it totally.
